I hate it when I can find out more about the construction of the piece from ravelry than from the book!Deirdrehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01262189115116664320noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1406425999113108559.post-74822152383455521812010-07-17T15:04:09.576+01:002010-07-17T15:04:09.576+01:00I hate when the shots are all arty. I want to see the garment, not a model looking all moody against a backdrop of flowers etc.
Focus on the detail!Sinéadhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03638944452534302340noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1406425999113108559.post-59737504300927012832010-07-15T10:59:04.261+01:002010-07-15T10:59:04.261+01:00Julie, I can see the Butterfly dress as a top but ...Julie, I can see the Butterfly dress as a top but as a dress? Not so much. I did notice when I was searching for the patterns on Ravelry an awful lot of people have used it to make a top instead.

I'm often suspicious of out of focus shots and it makes me more critical of the pieces because I wonder what they're not telling me.Deirdrehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01262189115116664320noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1406425999113108559.post-45877882129753464422010-07-15T10:52:07.242+01:002010-07-15T10:52:07.242+01:00That's a very interesting point about the phot...That's a very interesting point about the photography, and something thatw ould bite me in the ass because I'd be inclined to buy a book when flicking through it in a shop if I like the 'mood' that the pictures create, but then I'd be cursing it when I got home and realised that I didn't actually like the patterns and was just seduced by the styling - or I did actually try to make something and couldn't figure it out because there were no clear construction photos.

p.s. I have the butterfly one in my queue to make the cami version, to wear over a little vest top, maybe with a cardigan over it. I keep putting off starting it though.juliehttp://www.halfadreamaway.comnoreply@blogger.com
